8 Reasons Why Your Next Tablet Should Be A Microsoft Surface

8. Can I Kick It

Kickit

You wouldn't think that a kickstand on the device would be a compelling reason to buy one, but you'd be wrong. Sure, any tablet has some kind of case you can buy that lets you prop it up but those always add weight, are useless or cover the whole thing which kind of defeats the point of having a shiny, fancy, light tablet. The kickstand on the Surface 2 has two positions and these have been perfectly designed for desk use and couch use. There is almost no position you can sit in that you can't find a way to comfortably rest the Surface so you can use it hands-free. Which should really be a pre-requisite of a touchscreen device when you think about it. Being able to sit up in bed and read a book or watch a movie without having to hold your tablet or stick a clunky cover on it is a great benefit. On an airplane it's an absolute godsend. You see the others around you holding their tablets or fiddling about trying to get it to stay up while you smile contently. Whether in the house, the office, on public transport or in a bar with friends being able to stand your tablet up securely and tap the screen without having to hold the back of it for fear of it tipping has more benefits than you would think.
