8 Reasons Why Your Next Tablet Should Be A Microsoft Surface

7. Get It Done

Getitdone iOS and Android are fun to use but there is almost always a point when you have to put them down and get the laptop out or go to the desktop. If you're a student at school or university or perhaps running your own business you will likely have a laptop or desktop on which to do your work but the Surface 2 comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote pre-installed. This means you can do all the fun tablet stuff but also keep up with your work email, write your assignments etc. OneNote is a particularly useful and dynamic note taking app. It comes in both Desktop and Modern forms and with OneDrive integration will sync to any other Windows 8 device or Windows Phone. IT workers can use proper RDP to connect to servers, VPN to clients and resolve issues as well as keep up to date with alerts whilst keeping an eye on Twitter in another pane. (more on that later) Where previously there was an iPad, a personal laptop and a work laptop, there is now only a Surface Indeed anyone who has that desktop they need for x86 programs can use RDP on the Surface which mean that you don't have to get up from the couch to do it. So instead of having to put your tablet down and go do your work at a desk, the Surface does it all. For those who don't use x86 programs but do want or need that bigger screen, or just want to get away from everyone from time to time, an HDMI or VGA converter cable means you not only can use the bigger screen but you now have 2. The Surface can show the modern UI whilst the bigger screen is the desktop giving you a flexible and productive experience. All that from a tablet.
