8 Reasons Why Earth 2.0 Is Super Exciting

Because of its privileged position in the Goldilocks Zone, the surface temperature on Kepler 452b may well be within the correct range for liquid water to exist.

As far as we know, life needs water. Virtually everywhere we find liquid water on planet Earth, we also find life. Actual H2O is pretty common in the universe as a whole, but it almost always exists as either ice or vapour.

The discovery of liquid water on the surface of an alien world significantly increases the likelihood that there's something swimming around in it as well (although at this point it might be better to hope for a colony of bacteria rather than alien super-sharks).
