8 Reasons Why Earth 2.0 Is Super Exciting

1. BUT…It’s One Hell OF A Commute

Unfortunately, it's a bit of a walk.

At a distance of 1,400 lightyears from Earth, it's pretty far away. So, even if we set off now, flying at the speed of the Voyager 1 probe (38,610mph) it would still take us 24 million years to get there. Just to put that into a bit of context, 24 million years ago, we were still swinging around in the trees.

So that's pretty impossible now, but perhaps in the future we could develop capabilities to travel at much faster speeds and cut the journey time down a bit. Perhaps we could use the next 24 million years to figure out how to build a warp drive, then we could go anywhere we pleased in the blink of an eye.

For now, we'll have to study from afar and continue our search for life in the universe.
