8 Times Things Got Seriously Awkward On The Joe Rogan Experience

6. Deadmau5's Lone JRE Appearance Becomes A Drunken Free For All

Alcohol can be a great aid when it comes to helping interesting conversations take place on a podcast. After all, when Elon Musk's first appeared on the JRE back in 2018 he came across rigid and uncomfortable for the first hour before really loosening up as the episode went on, resulting in a great show.

However, alcohol isn't always the magic recipe, and can often prove to be hugely detrimental to the flow of an episode as seen when Canadian electronic music legend Joel 'Deadmau5' Zimmerman appeared on the JRE back in 2012.

Deadmau5 was joined by Eddie Bravo and Russel Peters on the podcast, and while everything started well enough, everything went downhill around halfway through. Not only is everyone talking over each other, but things really go downhill when Deadmau5 states his opposition to recreational drugs, clearly a big no-no on the JRE.

Joel clearly has some interesting insights about his career though, and will hopefully return to the show sometime in the future in the more established one-on-one format with Joe.
