9 Celebrities You Won't Believe Were Once Homeless

6. Sam Worthington

Sam Worthington Wrath Of The Titans Sam Worthington, by all rights, should never have made it in Hollywood. Not because he isn't hugely talented, but because until the intervention of James Cameron, Worthington was a homeless actor known only for his roles in obscure Australian films and TV dramas. Worthington started his career as a bricklayer, until he was offered a place at Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art. After graduating, the actor spent years struggling to gain steady work. At the age of 30, Worthington claims that he, "looked in the mirror and didn't like what saw." In response, he sold almost all his possessions, including the house, and drove off to the mountains. While there, he received a call that ultimately led to his casting in Avatar - the highest grossing film ever made.
