9 Huge Mistakes In The Harry Potter Books You Didn't Even Notice

9. Molly Weasley Apparently Suffers Memory Loss

Who can forget the moment Harry Potter wanders King's Cross Station for the first time, attempting to find his way to the wizardly platform that will transport him to Hogwarts. It's a brilliant moment in the Philosopher's Stone, and is masterfully used by Rowling to introduce a bunch of main characters and ease readers into the start of an amazing journey.

Sadly, however, some details are incredibly difficult to spot, regardless of how obvious they might seem in retrospect. While searching for Platform 9 ¾, Harry hears Molly Weasley confusedly asking €œWhat platform was it again?€. Ginny replies with €œPlatform 9 ¾€, and the reader is reminded of this absolutely key location, as well as made aware of the fact these characters have knowledge of Hogwarts, and are likely themselves witches and wizards.

There's only one problem... why on earth would Molly Weasley forget about Platform 9 ¾? Given the fact she's been there dozens of times with Fred, George, Percy, Charles and Bill, the question makes absolutely no sense. As a storytelling device, great. In terms of logic... not so much.
