9 Huge Mistakes In The Harry Potter Books You Didn't Even Notice

7. Dumbledore Inadvertently Attempts To Murder Slytherin Students

One of the most memorable moments in Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone takes place during the Halloween Feast, which occurs on the thirty-first of October every year in the Great Hall. It's at this point in the book readers are introduced to the real, tangible threats that exist at Hogwarts (even if this threat seems laughably mundane later on).

It's at this feast that Professor Quirrell bursts onto the scene and warns that a troll has been spotted in the dungeons, cutting the meal short and terrifying students. In an attempt to keep everyone safe, Dumbledore orders all students to return to their dormitories, but there's only one problem... Slytherin's dormitories are IN the dungeons, which means that by sending them there, Dumbledore is directly putting them at risk of being troll dinner.

I know that Slytherins are often looked down upon, but come on, Albus...that's a discrimination lawsuit just waiting to happen.
