Firestarter – which was published in 1980 – is a unique Stephen King novel in that its primarily science fiction. In tells the story of a young girl who develops pyrokinesis, the ability to create and control fire using the mind. Throughout the story a government agency known as The Shop attempt to find and control her.

During the story, Andy and his daughter Charlie flee The Shop. At a certain point they arrive at a secluded cabin in order to stay hidden. When Andy puts Charlie to bed, he heads out to the porch with some “mule-kick”, an alcoholic drink. When he finishes the mule-kick he then heads to bed.

After that there's a flashback detailing Andy's wife Vicky's death. When it's over, Andy is described as standing up, pouring the mule-kick over the porch and heading to bed. The only problem is, Andy has already finished the drink rather than pouring it out, and he's gone to bed already. What's going on, then? Some kind of parallel version of Andy? Sadly it's just another mistake.
