9 Reasons Why Tony Abbott Is The Worst Australian Prime Minister In History (And He Only Just Got The Job)

3. A Firm Believer In The "White Australia" Policy

White Australia

When Tony Abbott and his family resettled in the great southern land it was then under the doctorate of the "White Australia" policy. Basically left over from the days of British Colonial Rule and passed into law at the outset of our beloved land, it was initially sold as a way to eliminate or minimize low wage immigration from Asia and the Pacific Islands. It literally segregated whole groups of people based on their ethnicity and was simply a tool to maintain Australia's "British character" and to restrict new arrivees that did not fall under the status quo of "being white." Funnily enough this "immigration" policy also extended to the native, indigenous people of Australia as well.

This is the rhetoric of one John Forrest, the West Australian Premier at the time of Federation. " of no use to shut our eyes to the fact that there is a great feeling all over Australia against the introduction of coloured persons. It goes without saying that we do not like to talk about it, but it is so." Now I had been brought up to believe that this way of thinking "went out with the dodo" but unfortunately with the election of our now Prime Minister Tony Abbott it seems that underneath the smiling tourism spun rhetoric that we and the rest of the world see every day lies a nation of complete morons or total racists. As considering his families history when it comes to emigration and the fact that he not only want's to stop the boats, but turn them around mid voyage (a proposal that is just insane in itself), quite simply tells me everything I need to know about the mans character (as it should of for the rest of you). There are no "white" people coming by boat anymore and therein lies the hypocrisy (for me at least) that has come to be known by the masses as the "6 point plan." Well, known by everyone except James Diaz. The fact that my grandparents may not have escaped Nazi Germany if Tony Abbott's policy was in place makes my blood boil and I personally take that as an attack on my family and its right to exist. And even though they may have gotten preferential treatment because they fitted the mold that is to be a "white person", the second they got off the boat they would have been immediately sent offshore to a third world prison for processing. Again to me is the definition of what it is to be UN-Australian and for those who aren't completely blind, resembles key elements of the now infamous "White Australia" policy. Am I the only one out there is Oz land that can see this? But don't take my words for it, let's here from Tony himself on the matter. "Jesus knew that there was a place for everything and it's not necessarily everyone's place to come to Australia." April 5th, 2010 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dh402owua4o That sounds to me like Christian Fundamentalism. Which is just as bad as the Muslim kind in my book and has no place in a modern civilized society. Maybe more so, for at least the Muslims will give you fair warning when they try to enslave you, the Christians attempt to subvert and convert by acting like they are your allies and friends before the eventual "stab in the back". When my grandparents resettled in Cowra of New South Wales, not only were they accepted into the community with open arms but went on to create a legacy that still resonates with the city limits today. They are remembered by everyone who knew them and regarded as true, pioneering "Australians." Which made me so proud to be part of this country. My families name even graces a park and picnic area and most Australians can't even pronounce it correctly. Good thing my surname has yet to grace the walls of the War Memorial though.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
