Banksy: 7 Great Artistic Achievements So Far

7.Paris Hilton CD

In 2006, Banksy pranked UK retail stores by replacing Paris Hilton albums with satirical duplicates Banksy had created. The decoy albums featured slight remixes of the original Hilton songs while the cover art promoted Banksy titled singles like "What Am I For?" and "Why Am I Famous". Reading the titles of these songs was a reminder that superficial starlets like Hilton and beyond had become an unhealthy obsession for hundreds. The rich and the narcissistic had never done anything worth the amiration of legions of fans yet they hold a firm stance in our lives that Banksy has brought to light. The fact that questionable media personalities like Paris Hilton are able to attempt music careers is not as horrifying as the fact that somewhere there is an audience that let this happen. Perhaps it was due to the general lack of interest in Paris Hilton CD's but there was not a record of many people returning the altered CD's. Banksy's statement towards a sheep like public for giving in to ill advised attempts by media personalities sloppy attempts at music careers. This deception by Banksy was memorable for reminding us that we shouldn't waste brain cells on over the top celebrities let alone music produced by them.
