Every Stephen King Novel Ranked Worst To Best

38. Roadwork

Roadwork Stephen King
Simon & Schuster

Yet another Bachman book, Roadwork is one of King's most overlooked creations, a dark novel which features zero hints of the supernatural. It follows a man who learns his town is having a highway constructed through it, and his increasingly desperate and violent attempts to stop the march of progress ruining his home.

It's a tragic, brutal, gut-punch of a novel, and makes for a great if draining read.
