Every Stephen King Novel Ranked Worst To Best
36. Joyland
One of King's more recent tales, Joyland doesn't really do anything new with the murder mystery that runs through it, but this fun if predictable sub-plot is easily elevated by the sweet and emotionally charged coming-of-age story which forms the bulk of the novel.
Told from the perspective of recently-dumped college student Devin Jones, Joyland's amusement park setting and heartfelt, mature tone makes it one of King's more accomplished and moving stories.
