33. Sleeping Beauties

Stephen King in It: Chapter Two
Scribner

Co-written with his son Owen King, Sleeping Beauties tells the story of a bizarre disease that causes women to fall asleep and then wake up in an uncontrollable, murderous rage. As the disease spreads, a group of women in the town of Dooling, Maine attempt to stay awake for as long as possible whilst trying to figure out what to do.

It's a gripping, mysterious and timely horror yarn, but is let down slightly by its slow start and an over-long middle that trips up the overall momentum.
