Every Stephen King Novel Ranked Worst To Best

19. Firestarter

Stephen King in It: Chapter Two
Viking Press

King's earlier novels all followed powerful supernatural forces, with their events often taking place around children. Firestarter is one of the best examples of this, a fast-paced and dark horror which follows a girl who has developed pyrokinetic abilities from her supernaturally gifted parents, and now must go on the run with her father as outside forces work to capture them.

The storytelling here is immense, the characters all fully-formed visions and the action reading like the best thriller you've ever seen. It's also got heart and some touching moments that help elevate it to further greatness, and showcases King's skills when it comes to writing young protagonists.
