Every Stephen King Novel Ranked Worst To Best
46. Thinner
The novel that forced King to publicly admit to being Richard Bachman, Thinner tells the story of an overweight man called Bill Halleck, who kills a gypsy woman in a car accident and, in escaping justice, is cursed to lose weight sporadically, regardless of how much he eats.
With its dark imagery, metaphors for modern-day America and the pure black comedy that comes with the book's final moments, Thinner is a creepy, weird cautionary tale that would have been better as a novella, since it hits far too much of a lull in the middle act.
