Professor Vector is another character who barely makes it into the film, but she is Hermione’s magical mathematics, or Arithmancy, teacher. And if her parents didn’t see the Naming Seer, then I’ll eat my Hogwarts hat.
It is explained by Hermione that seven is the most powerfully magical number, and the teacher of magical maths is named ‘the seventh.’ Of course, a vector is an important principle in both mathematics and science. And it also sounds pretty cool to boot.
