4. Be Selective? How?!
What do you mean, it's easier to slap a tape into a cassette Walkman? You know something? You're right, yet Apple seem to blindly believe that people are going to go through all this nonsense every time they want to listen to music. And look, they're talking about the first ones being able to hold five gigabytes of music. For those of you not computer savvy - well you had better GET computer savvy because this thing will demand you use, and understand, a computer - they tell us that's equivalent to about a thousand songs. That might seem a lot, but break it down and you're probably looking at about fifty albums, give or take. Again, that seems a lot when you first look at it, but y'know, the whole idea of apparently being able to use one of these things is the concept of taking your music library with you. Well, my music library would NOT fit on one of those things, nor I suspect would yours. I mean, I've been collecting albums for decades now and it sure is a lot more than fifty: how are they all supposed to go onto one device? And if they don't, I'm supposed to choose what I want on there? How do I do that? I don't know what I'll be in the mood for listening to on any given day. What if the album or songs I want aren't there, but back on my computer? But there's more.

Born and raised in Dublin Ireland, I worked for almost 30 years in the freight industry but took voluntary redundancy in 2009 to look after my sister, and discovered I had suddenly more free time on my hands. That's when I started contributing to online blogs such as Music Banter, and recently joined WhatCulture. A big sci-fi geek, I love Star Trek, Babylon 5, Farscape, Dr Who and many others as well as Red Dwarf, Buffy/Angel and so on. Love to write and express my views, and I always feel a but of humour never goes amiss. Big animal lover with three cats, and finally came into the 21st century by buying a HD TV! Yay!
