6. He Was A James Bond Fanatic
JFK was said to have been a James Bond fanatic, and was a big fan of the Ian Flemming-created British spy. So much so, he considered 1957 novel 'From Russia With Love' as one of his ten favourite books. From Russia With Love's plot revolved around SPECTRE's expert planner Kronsteen's plot to steal a Lektor cryptographic device from the Soviets and sell it back to them. The film version was released just a year after the Cuban Missile Crisis (which took place under Kennedy's administration), and just over a month before Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas.
