Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ vs Galaxy Note 5: 6 Key Aspects Compared

1. Battery

Both the Note 5 and S6 Edge+ have opted for slimmer designs at the expense of bigger batteries. Both phablets pack 3,000 mAh of battery power, which is relatively low compared to rivals. We know already from the S6 that the processor in these puppies isn't as power-efficient as Samsung wishes it was, so my early prediction is that you'll be lucky to get a day's life out of your battery before needing to recharge. On the topic of recharging, Samsung may have over-extended itself when it proudly announced that both new phones would feature 'Fast Wireless Charging', only to then disappoint the world and reveal that by 'fast' in meant 'two hours'. Of course, the prospect of wireless charging is wonderful, and Samsung should keep pursuing the dream that one day phones can be charged simply by the sweat of our palms or the electrical activity in our brains. But for now, you should probably hold off from buying a pricey wireless charging mat until the tech gets more efficient. Both phones are now available for pre-order in the US, but Europeans hoping to get their hands on the Note 5 - with its addictively clicky new Stylus pen - are in for disappointment, as Samsung doesn't plan to release it on the continent for now.
