As part of the agreement to build this new park in China, Disney were required to make sure that Chinese culture would be included. The good news is that Disney have seemingly made good on this promise. There are many symbols of China throughout the park, including a Golden Peony, the flower of China, sitting atop Enchanted Storybook Castle. Whilst in the central hub area, Gardens of Imagination will feature several Chinese gardens. Guest will meet some some familiar faces with a new twist. In the Garden of the Twelve Friends you can meet characters who each represent the different animals of the Chinese Zodiac; Pixar's Remy will represent the Rat, Tangled's Maximus is the Horse and Pluto the Dog. Bob Iger has described the design of Shanghai Disneyland as "a truly magical place that is both authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.€ Looks like he is right.
