Skull Island: Reign Of Kong - Universal Orlando First Look!

From the queue area guests will get their first glimpse of the ground-breaking ride vehicles, entering Skull Island through flames. The trackless trucks are a massive feat of engineering... weighing some 17 tonnes and stretching 40 ft long, it can fit in up to 72 guests. Now that is big! At any one time there can be 4 or even 5 of these huge vehicles navigating the ride. This means there could be up to 360 guests experiencing the attraction at any one time! Perfect for steering away from incoming beasties, the vehicle's 45-inch wheels are able to be steered individually, meaning the ride can take sharp and complex turns, to keep the visitors on their toes. West previously described to WhatCulture.com how tracks can be distracting, whilst seeing the path ahead helps "to create an illusion". When it comes to this ride the guests won't see the technology. Guests will be rewarded with a different experience each time they ride, with 5 individual drivers on rotation. These unique characters will guide guests as they journey through the doors of the great wall. Guests will ride with either Becky Callahan (a wild girl), Jinks Costanza (a New York ex-con), Charles €œDoc€ Jordan (A PhD student in paleontology), Will Denham (nephew of future Kong legend film director Carl Denham) and Kalana (a native of the area). When it comes to the drivers you will "think and feel like they are real". Once entering the vehicles, guests will journey outside to go through the enormous doors to the strange world of Skull Island. Filled with labyrinths and caverns, you will need to escape the strange creatures around you. Just when you think you are safe you will be surrounded by a pack of dinosaurs and then Kong will appear, but is he friend or is he foe? West wasn't giving away any spoilers to WhatCulture.com, so you'll have to ride to really find out. West also confirmed that guests will need to put on their "protective cave goggles", almost confirming that 3D will be one element of this multi-dimensional ride. Click "next" below for part 3...
