Thoughts On iOS 7

Part 5 : SiriImage 3

Okay, so Siri. Siri's that awesome thing that the consumer always feels like they're going to use ALL THE TIME, and then they get there and unless they're going somewhere, they never use it. Mostly you just talk to it and listen to the fun things you have it say and have it call you Sir so you feel like Iron Man. Unless that last one is just me. Anyway, despite the fact that I don't use Siri incredibly often, I decided to give it it's own day because of the potential Siri has that I don't think Apple is utilizing. Now, they're somewhat getting there with the option for a male and female voice (protip: if you want it to have an accent you HAVE to stick with the gender it sets it for. Annoying, I know.), but I think they could go so much further than this. People always talk about getting Alan Rickman, Morgan Freeman, etc, to be the voice of their GPS, but seriously, we could get these people (plus some people that are just nice to listen to: Benedict Cumberbatch, David Tennant, Matt Smith...I'm noticing these are all British) to be the voice of Siri. It becomes something you can buy in iTunes and download onto your phone, and for the very basic commands (basically all the ones people ask Siri because they're bored) they get answered with their favorite celebrity. And they could even have the celebrities say The nearest _____ is _____. and the robot voice can fill it in. This is a phenomenon that Apple is missing. THAT is a surefire way to get people to spend money. Who wants to start the kickstarter for it? Who would you want to be your Siri? Let me know in the comments!

I'm currently attending my local college while trying to figure out who I am. I love Doctor Who, Sherlock, really any BBC show. I've also been told I'm a bit of a nerd. Specifically, a theatre nerd.
