Universal Orlando Resort: Cabana Bay Beach Resort Vs Aventura Hotel
Theme
Cabana Bay
Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a fun, 50s vacation spot.
All around it's bright, vibrant and full of nostalgia. The aesthetic is everywhere, from the neon lights to the vintage cars at the entrance and classic style phones in the rooms.
The hotel is pretty much the embodiment of the word kitsch and is a great escape from the modern world. Despite the shear amount of theming I didn't find it to be obnoxious like other themed hotels.
Aventura
Aventura's theme is that there's a lack of one. Unlike all of Universal's other hotels, it's not themed to a time period or place. Aventura just has a clean modern feel and is decorated in neutral tones and fashionable greys and purples.
Personally, I don't view that as a bad thing. I like a clean, neutral, functional room to come back to and relax after a busy day. I like that the white walls make rooms seem bigger and brighter. I loved that technology has found a place in this Prime Value hotel and felt it was a calm room to be in.
Winner
Cabana Bay has gone all in with its theming. You do feel like you are in a different time period whilst Aventura has little to no "theme".
I prefer the calmer tones and technology touches of Aventura whilst I know tons of people who can't get enough of the 50s fun.
