Universal Orlando Resort: Cabana Bay Beach Resort Vs Aventura Hotel

Located right next to Loews Sapphire Falls, Aventura is the closest of the Value Prime resorts to CityWalk.

Aventura does not have a direct water taxi to CityWalk but as it's only a 5 minute walk to Sapphire Falls' dock you can forget that it isn't a perk of the hotel. There's also a bus that runs from the front of the park and takes guests all the way to the security hub.

If you like to walk to Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida then it's only a 15/20 minute walk. As someone who prefers to walk over taking the bus, this distance isn't too exhausting at the end of a busy day of riding rollercoasters.

Aventura also offers just a 5 minute walk to the amazing Volcano Bay water theme park. A short walkway located at the back of the hotel's pool makes Volcano Bay's security handidly close.

Cabana Bay

Volcano Bay is just a short walk away from Cabana Bay and its newer rooms even have an unobstructed view over Waturi Beach and Krakatau Volcano. Cabana Bay Beach Resort even has its own walkway to the tropical paradise.

Although only located across the road from Aventura, this extra distance does add a significant amount of time to a trip to the parks.

Like Aventura there is no direct water taxi service from Cabana Bay so the main way to get there is by the complimentary shuttle bus to the busy main security entrance or walking.

Walking to CityWalk involves crossing a very busy road. To do this safely you need to take a pedestrian bridge. Our family suite was located right next to this overpass walkway and we found the walk to be 25/30 mins. If you stayed at the opposite side of the resort you could easily add at least another 10 minutes.

You can also head to Sapphire Falls and jump on their water taxi, saving you around 10 minutes of walking.

Winner

This one goes to Aventura. It's almost as close to Volcano Bay as Cabana Bay but getting to CityWalk it has much quicker alternatives.
