Colombia

At the Colombia booth we decided to grab ourselves the Colombian Burger to pair with the Papitas Bravas we purchased at the Spain booth.

Out of all the dishes the Colombian Burger was the most expensive at $9.99 compared to the Arepa de Choclo ($8.49) and Oblea ($6.99).

The burger was a decent size. Bigger than the pork slider we'd previously tried but on its own slightly on the smaller side. Yet one bite in it became clear that this burger was a winner.

Not over cooked at all, the burger was full of flavour. It came Monterey Jack cheese, pineapple cabbage slaw, cilantro garlic sauce, potato sticks. It was a touch sweet but not sickly thanks to the slaw and the potato sticks gave the dish a nice crunch.

If you like burgers the Colombian Burger is a must try at Mardi Gras.

Next to the Colombia booth is the Brazil one. Here they offer Shrimp Moqueca, Pão de Queijo and Brigadeiros. Prices at this booth ranged from $6.49 to $7.99; along with the $13.99 Mango Caipirinha.

If you are sensitive to gluten then the Brazilian booth is definitely one to check out. Every food item on the menu was marked as good for those with gluten sensitivity.

Here we decided to try the Shrimp Moqueca, the most expensive item at $7.99. This creamy, slightly spicy stew was delicious and quickly catapulted its way to out favourite.

The portion was perfect for one person and the rice perfectly cooked. There was also plenty of large shrimp, something that doesn't always happen at these types of festivals.

If you are a fan of curries and stews this dish is absolutely the thing you NEED to try at Universal Mardi Gras: International Flavours of Carnaval.
