What Happens When You Only Drink Coke Or Pepsi?

6. You'll Pack On A Lot Of Weight... A LOT Of Weight

One of the biggest issues with consuming large quantities of sugary drinks are the calories contained within. Soda is often referred to as "empty calories" because your body takes them in without any accompanying nutrition your body needs.

One can of Coke contains 140 calories while Pepsi contains 150, and depending on your diet, you may not need those calories to function, which means you're going to store that energy in a convenient fat cell. That's essentially how we gain weight; we consume more energy than we use, and our body stores it for a rainy day.

Sadly, tapping into that energy isn't easy, which means every day you continue drinking Coke and Pepsi instead of water, you're going to keep packing on the weight until you cross the line into obesity. One man gave this sort of thing a try, though he continued to drink water and eat a healthy diet at the same time.

His plan was to drink ten Cokes a day, for 30 days to see how it affected his health. He gained 23 lbs, and his body fat increased by 65%. This was a man who was physically fit and in excellent health when he began the experiment, but by the end, he looked and felt terrible.
