Zodiac Case: Every Suspect That Was Seriously Considered

Numerous people have accused deceased family members of dark pasts, but few can bring bonafide evidence to the table. Dennis Kaufman was able to provide some interesting potential proof to back up his allegation that his late step-father Jack Tarrance may have been the Zodiac.

As well as DNA and handwriting samples to be compared with evidence already on file, Kaufman submitted a couple of particularly chilling relics for investigation: a hood he claims bears striking resemblance to one the Zodiac Killer was said to have worn, and a blood-stained knife.

The discovery of such items is enough to have anyone searching frantically for explanations, and Jack Tarrance's relatives re-examined their early memories only to uncover some unnerving tidbits. Kaufman's half-brother and Tarrance's biological son recalled his father miming taking a shot (the gun kind, not the whiskey kind) while referring to 'Zodiac'; his son in law quoted Tarrance as saying, "If you knew who I really was, you wouldn't like me very much."

Props to the FBI for taking Kaufman's evidence seriously, but there wasn't enough to draw solid conclusions. Dennis and his family remain convinced - they even suggest mishandling of original crime scene evidence has ruined any chance of ever cracking this case.
