A long time ago in a galaxy far far away there was a constant struggle between the light and the dark. Often oscillating in power with the scales tipping one way or the other, both ultimately counteracted each other and brought the well needed balance to the force.
The embodiment of the light were the Jedi, the unfeeling keepers of peace who strive to regulate their emotions and emphasised restraint in self control. Their eternal enemies went by the name of the Sith who believed and lived by the polar opposite views, that through allowing their fear and rage to go unchecked they would tap into a power that the Jedi were made weak for rejecting.
