The award for most improved player over the last five years undoubtedly goes to Peter Wright and rather than if, it seems a case of when will he win his first televised major in the PDC.

Up until the 2013 UK Open, Wright was a player who was always scraping to secure qualification for major tournaments, but his semi-final appearance in Bolton provided him with the belief to become the player that he is today.

Seven months later, Wright was a World Championship runner-up and a participant in the Premier League and although he initially struggled to build upon that achievement, there is little doubting that he is the full package now.

it's very rare that he doesn't reach the last eight of a competition - televised or on the floor - and it is often a case of one or two crucial misses at double that is ultimately the difference between victory and defeat.

In his last 20 matches on TV, he has registered an average of below 95 on just one occasion and sooner rather than later, you would expect 'Snakebite' to benefit from being one of the most consistent throwers on tour.
