10 Best Footballers On The Planet Right Now

8. Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale made headlines in the summer of 2013 when he completed his £85 million move from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid. 2013 had already been a good year for Bale, whose 21 Premier League goals earned him a double win at the PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year Awards. And it became a record-breaking one when Madrid splashed out on the Welshman, making him the costliest player in world football when they took him away from Spurs. Injury has occasionally hindered Bale's debut season in La Liga and though the 24-year-old has scored seven league goals in the 10 appearances he has managed this term, he hasn't exactly stolen the limelight from teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, despite taking his record as the most expensive player in the history of the game.
