10 Best Managers At 2014 World Cup

9. Roy Hodgson - England

Hodgson has bounced all over the world, and this is the third national team he has managed. However, much more is expected of him with England than with Finland or the United Arab Emirates. Hodgson€™s strength as a manager has been getting the most out of lesser talent. He took Fulham to the Europa League title game, and his run at West Bromwich Albion before he took the England job was impressive as well. On the other hand, those skills don€™t really mean much on a national level. He€™s not being tasked with making magic with a marginal squad. His job is to take a bunch of elite players and try and lead them to England€™s first major success in Europe in a long, long time. As such, perhaps his middling tenure at Liverpool is more relevant. So far, there can€™t be many complaints with England€™s performance under Hodgson, but his managerial talents may not translate to a situation such as this.
