A highly competitive fixture and always an entertaining match, Argentina vs. Brazil is a game that no player ever wants to lose. The two sides have met 108 times in total, with 44 wins for Brazil and 39 wins for Argentina, but we haven't been able to enjoy an Argentina vs. Brazil World Cup game since way back in 1990, when Argentina ran out 1-0 winners.

Clashes between the sides have often been quite aggressive affairs, with the 1982 World Cup game in particular going down in history after Diego Maradona was sent off for a nasty kick on Brazil's Batista. Brazil dominated the occasion and won 3-1, with Maradona growing increasingly frustrated by his team's performances and the referee's decisions.

Both sides are former World Cup winners and are often among the favourites to lift the trophy. This summer, Brazil arguably have a stronger squad, but both teams are filled with talent and have their own world class stars in the form of Neymar and Lionel Messi. A semi-final clash between the teams is possible and would be a mouthwatering match-up.
