10 Biggest Controversies In UFC History

7. Tito Ortiz Removed From LHW Records

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59QIN4N2aE8 Dana White is fairly notorious for having arguments with his employees. Randy Couture, Roy Nelson and even veteran referee Big John McCarthy have all been on the receiving end of a lashing from the UFC President€™s venomous tongue. Perhaps the most well known verbal sparring partner of his is former Light Heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz. These two bitter rivals used to be close friends €“ White was even Ortiz€™s manager once upon a time. Unfortunately, they fell out over a financial disagreement and Tito defected to another promotion. Their bickering has never ended however, with Ortiz once wearing a t-shirt to a weigh-in sporting the slogan €˜Dana White is my b*tch€™. There were also rumours of a boxing match between the pair so you can tell they were still on rocky terms (pun not intended). Until recently this rivalry was confined to sly jibes made during press conferences, but at UFC 172 it reared its ugly head once again. After Jon Jones worked his way to a decision victory over Glover Teixera, a graphic emerged on the screen stating Jones held the record for the most wins in UFC Light Heavyweight history with 14. The inescapable issue here was that Ortiz had 15. Outraged fans and fighters alike took to Twitter to express their outrage that a fighter€™s legacy could so easily be destroyed and removed from the record books. Even Ken Shamrock, the man who once threatened to knock Tito€™s blonde locks black, was disgusted at dastardly Dana€™s newest attempt to undermine Ortiz.
