10 Biggest Controversies In UFC History

8. Bang Ludwig€™s X-Second Knockout

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGz3zJoxZAc Way back in 2006 the UFC were putting on one of their early €˜Fight Night€™ events, UFC Fight Night 3. One of the bouts set to take place that night pitted Johnathon Goulet against Duane €˜Bang€™ Ludwig. The first punch of the fight thrown by Ludwig was the last as it sent Goulet crashing down, face first, into the mat. As fans at home and in attendance could see the fight clock stood at around the 4:56 mark when referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the fight, making it last all of 4-seconds. However €“ according to the official timekeeper €“ the fight was stopped after 11 seconds. In reality the fight quite clearly took only about a third of this time. After much discussion on the subject Keith Kizer of the Nevada State Athletic Company declared they were unable to overturn the time stamp on Ludwig€™s victory. Despite this many people regard Ludwig as the owner of the fastest knockout in UFC history and are appalled that the kickboxing-master shouldn€™t be given the credit he deserves.
