10 Biggest MMA Stories Of 2014

2. Class Action Lawsuit Against UFC

Speaking of competition, a newly launched class action lawsuit by a trio of high powered law firms representing Cung Le, Nate Quarry, and Jon Fitch claims there really isn't any in the world of MMA, and that the UFC and parent company Zuffa are in violation of anti-trust laws. It alleges unfair practices, fishy contracts, egregious actions by UFC bigwig Dana White including bragging publicly on the internet about killing off the competition, and in general conspiring to keep fighter pay low and keep the majority of the pot for themselves. Fighter pay has been an issue raised a lot in the MMA world recently, and this lawsuit was one of the biggest events of the year, as it has the potential to change the MMA landscape for a long time to come. It's not that the UFC is going anywhere, but they may have to change the way they do business.
