10 Biggest MMA Stories Of 2014

3. UFC Signing CM Punk

Will CM Punk be the solution to the UFC's financial woes? No, but they've got several weeks worth of headlines out of the Punk signing, and that will probably continue, at least off and on, until after he makes his debut. Win or lose, CM Punk is going to be big news for a while. That's a win for the UFC, any way you look at it. Is signing a pro wrestler with no fight experience something the world's premiere MMA organization should be doing? Probably not from a pure sporting perspective, but the UFC is a business, and Bellator would have done the exact same thing, so why let the competition get the glory?
