10 Biggest UFC Prospects Aged 23 And Under

Who will the next elite batch of UFC fighters and future champions be?

To become a legend of this sport and gain a name that will forever be engraved in the Hall of Fame and the memories of fans, you truly need to give your life to game. The select few who do so must surround themselves with other elite fighters, train constantly and miss out on the partying lifestyle that can be oh-so tempting when you are establishing a name for yourself. In a sport where the money is far from glamorous until you reach the very top and become a superstar, it is clear to see that it takes a certain kind of motivated character to take this journey. Many will try and many will fail, but the pertinent question for UFC fans now is which of the current batch will have what it takes to rise to greatness. With that in mind, let's look at the biggest prospects and talents under the age of 23...

10. Jake Matthews

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dujEahglmWw A raw prospect who entered the Octagon at only 19 years of age, Matthews is a brutish lightweight with big strength. He competed in The Ultimate Fighter: Canada vs Australia season, where he was defeated by Olivier Aubin Mercier. But since then he has gone 3-1 in the UFC including choking out one of the best BJJ specialists in MMA - Vagner Rocha. It is unbelievable that this young Australian already has 11 fights at 20 years old and although he possesses raw power on his feet, Matthews' clear strength is his heavy top control, brutal ground and pound and chokes. Ideally in the future to achieve his full potential Matthews will join a camp in the USA but at only 20 there is still plenty of time for him to do so. And at his current rate of improvement he should be given time to further his skills and slowly built him into a contender and a star Australian fighter.
