10 Bizarre Jose Mourinho Moments
6. Jose Iscariot
Ah, Judas Iscariot. Remember him? Knocked about with Jesus, sold him out for a bag of silver and sources differ over what happened next. Not someone you'd expect to come up much in the modern game. This all changed when Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge as Manchester United manager in March 2017.
Football fans are both first to betray their own coaches when going through a rough patch but also first to demand absolute loyalty from them once they've left. Mourinho heading to Old Trafford was a crime some could not forgive.
During the game, fans chanted "Judas", "You're not special anymore" and "It's all your fault" at the Portuguese coach, the last statement in reference to Chelsea not having Champions League football that season.
"The fans can call me what they want," said Mourinho, going on to add, "Until the moment they had a manager that wins four Premier Leagues for them, 'Judas' is No. 1."
Does that mean Roman Abramovich is Jesus in this 'Greatest Story Ever Told'? We might as well cast John Terry as John the Baptist and Eva Carnerio as Mary Magdalen while we're at it.
