10 Boxing Fights That Need To Be Made

10. Amir Khan vs. Kell Brook

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lxih5h2gog This one falls under the category of 'domestic dust-ups'. And it's a personal one at that, with both British welterweights Khan and Brook taking verbal shots at each other over the last few years. To summarise, Brook calls out Khan, says he will knock him out...etc, but Khan retorts with Brook isn't in his league, citing the fact that Khan himself is a former world champion, whilst Brook is yet to challenge for a world title. Khan does have a point, and considering that Khan has only recently stepped up to welterweight, it's understandable why the fight hasn't been made as of yet. But the stars are starting to align as Brook has been on the ascension in the last year or two, whilst Khan has come to a bit of a career crossroads, having lost his world titles in 2012. It would be intriguing to match Brook's punch power against Khan's so-called 'glass chin', but also see whether Brook could deal with Khan's blistering hand speed. I'm confident the fight will or, at least, can be made this year. Khan is a candidate to face Floyd Mayweather, Jr. on May 3rd. If he does face Mayweather, it's unlikely that he will win, meaning a Brook fight would be his most lucrative option after that. If he doesn't fight Mayweather, then Brook has stated that he is willing to give up his mandatory shot for the IBF welterweight title in order to fight Khan instead. This is how personal this is. The time for tweeting is over, it's time to settle this in the ring.
