10 British Sporting Heroes Who Could Bring Us Glory This Summer

8. Stuart Broad

The fast-bowler was the leading wicket taker in England€™s test series triumph against the West Indies €“ outshining his more esteemed teammate James Anderson. With a one-day series against the Aussies; and a second test series against South Africa set to come this summer; England will need him to carry on his wicket taking ways. Furthermore, the 25 year old is Captain of the country€™s Twenty20 side and will lead them into the World Cup this September. England are the current world champions and if Broad can lead a successful title defence, he could very well become Britain€™s champion of the summer.

7. Luol Deng

In Luol Deng, of the Chicago Bulls, Britain boasts one of the NBA€™s biggest stars. Although his club is not happy with him competing at London 2012, Deng has always insisted that he would never miss the games. GB Basketball is really banking on him and his presence at the games could cost around £300,000 in insurance payments.
