6. Amir Khan
Despite only getting a silver medal at the Beijing Olympics, Amir Khan arguably stole the show for Britain in 2008. Having gone on to hold professional titles since then, the Bolton born fighter might be looking to steal Team GB's thunder once again. He faces Danny Garcia in Las Vegas on July 16th in a bid to capture the WBC title. Khan will be looking to set the record straight after losing the WBA and IBF light-welterweight crowns to Larmont Peterson in controversial fashion. If Khan is at his destructive best, then British fans could be in for a fight that they will never forget.
5. Rory Mcilroy
The Northern Irishman is Britains highest ranked player in the PGA tour, and is likely to be Team Europes top gun at the Ryder Cup. Depsite not making the cut at the U.S. Open, the 23 year still tops the European Points List. Leading the charge for team Europe at the Ryder Cup will certainly give Britain bragging rights among its peers. However if he stars at the competition and gets one over the Americans that is something that would sit well with the British public.
