3. Stomps
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=diHYAa65Hzs Once again it's hard to narrow down a specific example, but stomps were another example of brutal legal techniques during the early days of the UFC. This actually makes more logical sense than some of the other more brutal techniques that were mentioned on this list as it involved kicks. Some martial arts do incorporate stomps and because of this they were a part of the no rules philosophy. But again they were used as part of the crusade against the UFC because of the lack of rules. This also made perfect sense as it was a brutal technique that could have severe repercussions if used incorrectly. It was for that reason that it was banned in the UFC at UFC 14. However, this was a long accepted technique in Japanese promotion Pride Fighting Championships, where several early UFC fighters went to earn bigger paychecks. Even after Pride folded several promotions in Asia continued to allow stomps well into the 2010s decade. In fact several Pride veterans such as Mauricio "Shogun" Rua and Wanderlei Silva prior to his retirement hoped that the UFC might bring stomps back. However, as it is banned under the Unified Rules this is probably wishful thinking.
