The fiery Scot was never one to take fools lightly and if that meant berating a match official or two he wasn't afraid to do so. Ferguson was hit with a series of fines by the FA throughout his career for bringing the game into disrepute, and was clobbered with a £10,000 fine in October 2003 for abusing Jeff Winter. The biggest ever fine the legendary coach was hit with however was £30,000 in March 2011, for questioning the performance of Martin Atkinson. Sir Alex was fined five times by the FA throughout his spell as United chief for failing to bite his tongue in post-match press conferences and when tallied, his fines for raging against refs amounts to £75,000.
