1. Edson Barboza vs. Terry Etim - UFC 142

Finally, we've reached number one on our list of favourite concussion inducing, violent strikes and it's certainly a memorable one. There were plenty of memorable moments from this event, including Jose Aldo leaping over the octagon to celebrate with hundreds of screaming Brazilian fans and Vitor Belfort's triumphant return to Brazil since he blitzed Wanderlei Silva. However, the stand out moment for anyone watching the event live was Edson Barboza's incredible spinning wheel kick which knocked Terry Etim flat onto his back.

It would've been one thing if Barboza had battered Etim all over the canvas prior to the knockout, but it was a competitive fight between two very promising mixed martial artists who many had touted as the 'next big thing' in the lightweight division.

However, just when it seemed like the fight was going to a decision, Barboza decided to do something most people only had seen in Tekken or really bad 80s action movies when he rotated on his left foot and swung his right heel violently into Etim's face, sending his seemingly lifeless body flying across the cage. Truly brutal stuff.
