Tottenham Hotspur's Premier League life has been fairly underwhelming. Granted, the club has done exceptionally well to remain one of only seven club to have played in every single season since the league's inception in the 1992-93 season - which is a success in itself - but there has been a distinct lack of silverware in that time. A mere two League Cup wins in twenty-two years - in 1999 and 2008 respectively - for a club of Spurs' size is, frankly, unacceptable and a single Champions League campaign is not a good return, given the massive amounts of money the club has spent on players. There have been other highs, of course. A plethora of superstars have come through the doors at White Hart Lane, a 9-1 home victory over Wigan Athletic, a number of North London derby victories and a couple of recent victories at Old Trafford, for example, but there certainly appears to have been more to jeer about than there has been to cheer about.
