10 Darkest Spurs Moments Of The Premier League Era

10. Rumours Of Tim Sherwood Hitting A Player

In March of 2014, after Spurs had been hammered 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield, then boss Tim Sherwood was said to be absolutely fuming with his team. In fact, the former midfielder kept the whole team in the dressing room after the match for a 45 minute dressing down and rumours began to surface of a physical exchange between him and misfiring striker Roberto Soldado - one which apparently saw the notoriously hot-headed Sherwood punch the Spaniard in the face. Of course, both player and manager - and Aaron Lennon - came out publicly denying the claims, but it was indicative of a very low time at Spurs - after all, those kinds of rumours don't come out unless a team is performing very, very badly. It tarnished an already disappointing season for Spurs and can't have made relations between the manager and the players very good, even if it wasn't true.
