10 Emotional Moments That Made Footballers Cry

5. Ryan Taylor - Injury Comeback

All joking aside, this really was a heart breaker. Fresh from a two year injury lay off because of cruciate ligament damage to his knee, Taylor made a long overdue return to first team action with Newcastle against QPR in mid-November. He was rapturously received and had been looking Newcastle€™s most threatening player until he pulled up midway through the first half looking desperate. Another suspected knee injury. It was all too much for possibly the nicest footballer in the Premier League and he left the pitch in floods of tears, forlornly trudging back to the treatment room. His first competitive game of football in 993 days had lasted approximately 34 minutes. Thankfully for the chipper Scouser, all wasn€™t as bad as first feared with scans showing minimal damage and a comparative walk-in-the-park lay off of only a few weeks.
