He was Vallecanos unfortunate right back on a night they faced Real Madrid with Los Blancos having just recently spent a couple of quid on a new signing from Spurs. That evening, Gareth Bale ran him ragged down the wing, embarrassing the hapless full back with skill, power and astonishing speed. Vallecano's manager had seen enough and would do the footballing equivalent of throwing the towel in and hauling the poor sod off. Arbilla burst into violent floods of tears and would eventually sit with his training top covering his face, head in hands, while his team mates attempted to console him. Heart-breaking stuff.
