8. Ben Rothwell Does An Evil Laugh
The gogo choke is rare in UFC, but Ben Rothwell managed to Matt Mitrione and Josh Barnett with it just six months apart. After the Mitrione win in New Orleans, Rothwell decided to show us a new side of his character. It was a side we will hopefully never ever see again.
You could have replaced Anik with Mean Gene Okerlund as this was a promo straight out of early 90s WWF. Rothwell went full pro wrestling, even managing to turn half way through. Starting off as a full on babyface rambling on and on about how only politics would keep him from his title shot, he quickly turned heel. "You ain't seen nothing yet" was followed by a sinister movie monster laugh and a hand in the air. An unfazed Anik somehow managed to ignore this nonsense and ask a question about the fight. He shouldn't have bothered.
Rothwell said something about the choke being tight in a weird evil voice before disappearing to celebrate. Perhaps he went off to drown a bag of puppies in the Mississippi River.
That title shot still hasn't come two years later. After the win over Barnett, he faced Junior dos Santos, who bested him in a one sided decision.
